1937 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta wins the Coppa d’Oro at Villa d’Este

To no one’s great surprise, American collectors David and Ginny Sydorick’s sublime 8C 2900B scooped top slot on the Saturday of this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza.

The powerful car, quite possibly the fastest production road machine in the world at the time, was Best of Show at Pebble Beach in 2018 and tops most enthusiasts’ lists of lottery-win cars.

The event was held in blazing sunshine before the heavens opened after lunch and many in open cars were soaked to the skin. Full report to follow.
