Bonhams to offer ‘The Bridge 911’ for charity at the Goodwood Festival

She’s enigmatic, tough and sexy. Swedish detective and star of the hit TV series ‘The Bridge’ Saga Noren – played by actress Sofia Helin – is also much admired by car fans for her Porsche 911 S. In a few weeks’ time at Goodwood, Bonhams will offer the 1977 Jaeger Grun US import, with all proceeds donated to WaterAid, a charity for which Helin is an ambassador.

Now catalogued at £20k to £30k, the car was imported to Sweden from San Francisco in 2009. Although Saga Noren clearly has an affinity with the Porsche, Helin herself has said in the past that she’s no great fan of it. The fourth and final run of the hit Scandi-noir series is airing on British TV right now.

While the plot might at times seem unfathomable, one thing is a constant: when Saga dons her trademark leather trousers and greatcoat then fires up the 911, viewers know they are in for a visual treat… even if they haven’t a clue what’s actually going on.
