“It was 60 years ago today…” D-types to star at Concours of Elegance 16th June 2017

Six decades ago Jaguar D-types took the first four places at the Le Mans 24 Hours. Another D-type was sixth, with a Lotus Eleven winning the 1,100cc class, finishing an extraordinary ninth overall. So expect Union Flags at Hampton Court to flutter with pride later this year, when the royal palace is once again the venue for this year’s Concours of Elegance.

To celebrate the success of Jaguar’s streamlined wonder, five D-types will be on display at the UK’s premier concours event, this year held from 1-3 September. New for 2017 is a drive past a central stage with expert commentary, much as we’ve become used to at Pebble Beach and Quail Lodge.

Jaguar D-types at Concours of Elegance 2017, the line-up:

Jaguar D-type XKD 606 – 1956 long-nose ex-Works car, 1st Le Mans 1957
