Welcome to Testarossa Territory. While 288 GTOS, F40s, F50s have marched on, it’s been the car once described as “resembling a kitchen appliance” that has captured the headlines. Starting the year at 193.87, the wide and brazen supercar finished the year at 242.20. As over 7,000 were built, the model made regular appearances in the saleroom, generating a broad spread of prices of up to $100k, half the value of an average car. Sales success has created the quest for the ‘next Testarossa’, with 575 Superamericas the current darling of the market.

Star performer? For a figure so stratospheric it must be pinned on the Pearly Gates, we’d say ‘the Pope’s Enzo’ from RM’s Pinnacle Collection sale at Monterey. Its $6.05m price tag was truly blessed.
