K500 2015 sector analysis: Post-War European 10th January 2016

January 2015 462.69, December 2015 525.09.

Despite lacklustre performance from a past favourite, the Mercedes 300 SL Roadster (698.28 down to 538.22), and Aston Martin DB5s fixed around the 3000 mark, this is where the market’s interest has been concentrated in the last 20 years and we don’t see that changing.

Enjoying the stellar rise in equivalent Ferraris, Maserati’s star is in the ascendant, with models such as the Mistral coupé rising from 449.95 to 614.08 over 12 months. Highlights of the year would be two Monterey Week cars, Mecum’s $2.3m Lamborghini Miura P400S and Bonhams’ $1.9m Lancia Aurelia B24 Spider America. The yang to this yin would be the Lamborghini Countach LP400 Periscopica that disappointed at Monterey: $1.3m gross, after cars had sold in 2014 for $1.2m, $1.6m then $1.8m.
