Official event partner Broad Arrow opens its account at the Ritz Carlton

Playing to a packed room on the eve of The Amelia Concours d’Elegance, auctioneer Lydia Fenet assisted by Alain Squindo worked their way through a 68-car catalogue in just over three hours. Pending the inevitable post-sales, at least 56 found new owners and the provisional gross looks in the region of $14m.
Great efforts had been made to make the event an exciting audio-visual experience. Coming in from breezy Florida sunshine, it was quite something to be met with Hollywood-style graphics and imagery.
Regular stateside auctioneer Lydia Fenet for Broad Arrow is a safe pair of hands and swiftly passed lots that did not look like selling.
At a glance (Friday 7 March, provisional)
* Gross, motor cars: $13,864,860
* Percentage sold by number: 82%
* Top-selling car: 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder $2,315,000 gross, $2,100,000 net (est. $2.25m to $2.4m)

An expanded report to come after tomorrow’s auction, when two of the leading entries (above) at this year’s Amelia Island sales cross the block.
