RM’s 2026 $12.19m Cavallino Classic auction
To no-one’s surprise, the top-selling motor car at RM’s low-key sale of just 11 Ferrari Classiche-certified cars at this year’s Cavallino was a red LaFerrari. The 2015 coupé achieved $5,230,000 all-in against its $4.45m to $4.75m estimate.
Only one car failed to find a new owner: the 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4, when announced bidding failed to reach $3m.

Tellingly, a 2009 Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M, estimated at a strong $925k to $1m, sold for $1,105,000 gross. The car was essentially a ‘run-out’ model and 499 were built that year. Compare and contrast the result with that of the $1.545m 1964 Ferrari 500 Superfast Series 1 – 25 cars only, with 12 Series 2s, a true ‘Car of Kings’ – and the $1.463m 1955 Ferrari 250 Europa GT Coupé. The latter has always been a quintessential ‘Cavallino car’, prized by long-standing Ferrari experts with encyclopaedic knowledge of Maranello chassis numbers. Both older cars were competitively estimated and beat lower guide prices. All values with premium.
The ungainly 1971 365 GTB/4 ‘Daytona’ NART Spider by Michelotti went for $654,000 — the type of car bought by a classic car fund as a rare ‘one-off investment’. Good luck with that one.
Various items of Ferrari memorabilia topped and tailed the event, which closed with a two-piece dark blue suit custom-made for Enzo Ferrari by his personal tailor, Gabriele Bertazzoni, in 1979, selling for $54,000 gross. Estimated at $100k to $200k, it’s another example of older Ferrari style quite literally going out of fashion.
