The 1936 Lancia Astura Pinin Farina Cabriolet owned by Richard Mattei has won this year’s Best of Show at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The Astura is just one of six similar cars built for a Lancia dealer in Biella, Italy. It shook off tough competition from other pre-War entries, the traditional winners at Pebble.

Other highlights included a superb display of winning GT40s – including all three Le Mans victors – a line-up of Delahayes to die for and the usual post- and pre-War Preservation Class cars, Ferraris and ‘Brass Cars’.

Sir Jackie Stewart was reunited with the 1967 Ferrari P4 Spider in which he (in a one-off drive) helped Ferrari win the World Sports Car Championship in 1967.
